BPI BanKo Mobile App is Now Available for Micro-entrepreneurs

BPI Direct BanKo, the microfinance arm the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), is offering its mobile banking app for its microfinance clients.

Urging customers to go digital in this time of COVID-19, BanKo Head of Microfinance Loans Rodolfo “Rod” Mabiasen Jr. said, “We are innovating in the midst of the pandemic for the sake of our clients. Our goal is to continue guiding them to adapt in the new normal through this easy, hassle-free online banking initiative.”

Through the BPI BanKo Mobile App, clients may easily monitor their NegosyoKo loans, send payments, check their balance and transaction history in the comfort of their homes. With a few taps, accountholders may also buy prepaid load in any networks and get a 2% rebate, transfer money, and pay bills.

“It is important for our clients to have an easy access to their money. They can now monitor their accounts anytime, anywhere through our new mobile banking application,” Mr. Mabiasen said.

BanKo is not only encouraging its existing clients but also new customers to download the app through the Play Store of Google or the App Store of Apple. Mr. Mabiasen said the app will encourage the micro-entrepreneurs to save more since they can closely monitor their account and at the same time keep themselves safe by staying home.

New clients may conveniently open a PondoKo savings account with no maintaining balance and save as little as P50 at a time through the app.

Even in these trying times, BanKo Pares and BanKo Mares continue to check their clients’ situation and teach them ways on how they can sustain their businesses.

“BanKo remains open and ready to help our SEMEs to rise up and recover during this difficult period. They should not be afraid to reach out to us because our priority is to support them and their businesses. As their partner, we will respond to their needs however we can,” he added.

Since its inception in 2017, BanKo has already served over 120,000 clients nationwide and released P12.9 billion in loan disbursements.
